Mini Storage Packing Guide: How to Pack to Save the Most Space
Living space in Hong Kong is limited, and many families want to pack away items they rarely use. Here are the packing tips our door-to-door pickup and delivery team shares with customers all the time.
Step 1: Sort First, Then Box
Split your belongings into three groups: used all the time, used only in certain seasons, and possibly never used again. Only put the "seasonal" items into storage boxes — this greatly reduces clutter at home.
How to Fold Clothes to Save Space
- File folding: fold clothes into rectangles and stand them upright so you can see everything at a glance
- Compress bulky winter clothing with vacuum bags before boxing
- Avoid leaving leather and down items pressed at the bottom for long periods
Books and Documents
Put heavy items at the bottom and light ones on top, and don't overload any box — it makes moving easier and protects the box. Keep documents upright in folders.
Take a Photo Before Sealing Each Box
Once a box is packed, take a photo and note down what's inside. When you need something back, you can quickly find the right box without opening them one by one.
