During a move, renovation, seasonal change or furniture rearrangement, the hardest part is often not finding space but storing everything in an organised way. Door-to-door mini boxes and door-to-door mini storage both let a professional team handle collection and delivery, but they suit slightly different situations.

When are door-to-door mini boxes suitable?

If you mainly have clothes, books, documents, baby items, collectibles or other smaller belongings that can be boxed, sort them into mini boxes and arrange door-to-door mini box collection. This is especially useful for seasonal storage or a short-term decluttering project, and numbered boxes make retrieval easier.

When is door-to-door mini storage suitable?

If you need to store a sofa, bed frame, dining table, appliances or a larger quantity of household items during renovation, the volume is usually better suited to door-to-door mini storage. Sort your belongings and disassemble furniture where possible before moving day.

Step 1: Sort and record everything

Separate belongings into "keep at home", "store temporarily" and "donate or discard". Group the items you are storing by category and write a number and contents on each box. Photograph larger items and keep screws and accessories together.

Step 2: Book collection online

Once your items are organised, book a time online and prepare the collection address, item categories and an approximate quantity. Clear information makes it easier to decide from the start whether mini boxes or mini storage is the better arrangement.

Step 3: Prepare before the door-to-door collection

Keep walkways clear, place smaller items in box-number order, and empty drawers and cabinets before moving larger furniture. Do not place fragile, liquid or damp items directly into a box. If you have special items, check the relevant arrangement before booking.

Step 4: Arrange delivery when you need items back

When you need belongings returned, use the box numbers and inventory to list exactly what you need, then arrange delivery to your home. You do not have to bring everything back at once, so your home can stay organised.

You can use door-to-door mini boxes and storage together

During a move, separate clothes and documents into mini boxes, while bulky furniture and items you do not currently need can go into mini storage. For the wider door-to-door storage service, see Storage Master service information.

Whichever option you choose, making a list first and arranging collection afterwards is easier to manage than putting every item into one unlabelled pile.
