How to Store Baby Items: Cribs, Strollers and Outgrown Clothes

Baby gear gets outgrown faster than you expect: the crib lasts a year or so, the stroller two, and clothes change size every three months. Want to keep everything for a second child without your flat drowning in baby clutter? Here are some practical tips.

Clothes: sort boxes by size

After washing and thoroughly drying baby clothes, pack them into boxes by size (newborn, 3 months, 6 months...) and label each box. When the time comes, just grab the right-size box instead of digging through everything.

Cribs and strollers: photograph before disassembly

  • Take photos of the assembled state before taking anything apart, so you have a reference when reassembling
  • Keep screws and small parts in zip-lock bags taped to the main frame
  • Remove fabric parts, wash and dry them completely to prevent mould during storage

Toys and feeding equipment

Wipe and sanitise plastic toys; wash soft toys and dry them thoroughly before boxing. Bottles and sterilisers are easily deformed under pressure, so pack them in rigid boxes.

When is storage worth it?

If you plan to reuse everything within two or three years but simply have no space at home, putting the whole set into storage is a great option. Bulky cribs and strollers suit door-to-door mini storage; to store them together with furniture and other belongings, consider our Kowloon Bay central warehouse — send photos over WhatsApp for a quote.
